About
The district was created on 28 September 2011 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh under the name Panchsheel Nagar. Later, on 23 July 2012, it was officially renamed Hapur District. The district comprises three tehsils: Hapur, Dhaulana, and Garhmukteshwar.
Hapur covers an area of approximately 1116 square kilometres. It is bordered by Meerut district to the north, Bulandshahr to the south, Amroha to the east, and Ghaziabad to the west. The district lies in the fertile Indo-Gangetic Plain, making agriculture one of its primary economic activities.
